Wow, we stumbled across your blog as we first entertained the thaught of homeschooling in time for your last post “Here comes the sun” Remembering your quality of numbers post I returned today as we will embark on our own first maths block for grade one next month.

You are an absolute star - me and my husband have been trying to guess what it might be - I look forward to seeing if either of us are right and, as we have been away for a few days ourselves, we still have other numbers to occupy us before we meet number 8.

Hi Hazel,

I’m so sorry the “What is Eight?” section is missing. I think what happened is that I only have that section in hard copy and forgot that I didn’t include it when I copied the other sections directly from my computer.

I hope you will be able to wait until next week to receive the text. I am currently on holiday in another state, and away from all of my homeschooling notes and resources. I will return on Thursday, the 7th, and will copy it for you as soon as I get home.

I hope this doesn’t disrupt your own homeschooling schedule.

I think that your story to teach the quality of numbers is utterly fantastic and am using it to teach my son. The only problem is - “What is *?”

I’m sorry about bothering you about this when you have already put so much effort in but I have spent the last couple of days scouring the internet to no avail and Cypher’s question looms!

I just found your blog and LOVE your numeria stories. I was so sad when I realized you had stopped blogging. Thank you so much for sharing what you did. If you have later math blocks written out and would be willing to share them I would be very grateful. Also, if you have any letter blocks written out or can point me to online resources for them that would be great. Thanks again! I hope you are all enjoying your homeschool journey.

I’m also wondering if you may pick up blogging again. Yours is my favorite that I’ve read. I’d love to talk with you about how the rest of your year went and what you are doing with them now. I’m also planning on doing Christopherus or Live Ed for my daughter’s grade 1. Did you continue with both for grade 2? I’d love to hear from you! Thanks for what you’ve already shared.
